To travel, one must see their own country through the eyes of a tourist. I took Australia for granted before I went overseas, then could not wait to get back and see my own country in wonderment.
So I began capturing ‘My Country’ in Short Story Picture Boards of places that fill my heart.
Yep we have it all in one glorious country! Dorothea Mackellar’s poem ‘My Country’ sums it up beautifully. The most famous second stanza reads…
‘I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!’
