The road less travelled…exploring Tasmania

So I haven’t done much homework on what to see or where to go in Tasmania…it’s how I like to travel. With little expectations you are surprised and are open to what may come.

A quick chat to a local girl on the boat, I asked what were favourite places. I head off east avoiding the main roads and towns ending up in Scottsdale for the night. I’ve found the staff at the information centres incredible knowledgeable and helpful, giving you small insights that are NOT in the brochures – the real land, rather than the sanitised tourist attractions.

Driving through a lush rainforest…

I love the old buildings with their rusted tin roofs…very Australian!

It just so happened that a woman was giving a small demonstration on Bush Tucker on the veranda of the building and I found some delicious delights! Apparently they are now cultivating and exporting some of the seeds to France!  Expoloring our gastronomic delights!  Yummmm
